COURSE DESCRIPTION:
PCB/Parts/Gold Contact Handling is a major factor in delivering a good product to your Customer. This course is designed to teach students the proper way to handle electronic assemblies and parts with special attention to gold contacts.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
Teach Students to determine the proper way to handle electronic assemblies and parts.
Raise Students awareness of gold contact contamination.
COURSE TOPICS:
Describes the effects of oxidation on circuit boards and components.
Describes the critical issues involved with the storage and handling of components.
Describes gold contact contamination and the problems it causes.
Explains preventive measures that can be taken to protect circuit boards from contamination.
Discuss how contamination can affect a final assembly.
Explain problems of stacking PCB’s.
Discuss ways scratches can be prevented.
Describe component packaging and handling considerations.
Describes the "Popcorning Effect."
Explains general principles of "Good Housekeeping."
CERTIFICATE: Certificate presented to those passing the evaluation.
