Safety in Electronic Assembly (2 Hours)
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to alert PCA manufactures about the potential dangers in the workplace.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
Students will be able to define some of the common danger in the Electronic Assembly workplace. This Module highlights personal protection used to guard against injury, for example the safest ways to move and lift while working. It also highlights the proper ways to handle the various tools and material used in the electronic assembly process.
COURSE TOPICS:
This class will:
Describe the dangers of long hair, loose clothing and jewelry and the ways to avoid these dangers.
Describe why eye and foot protection may be needed.
Define “Cumulative Trauma Disorder” and describe the most common examples of these injuries.
Describe the hazards and rules when using soldering irons.
Describe the hazards of flux and lead solder and how to avoid them.
Discuss the lockout/tag out warning systems used in your company.
Explain the general principles of “Good Housekeeping” which provide the cornerstone of safety.
EVALUATION: Written Test/Passing score 70%
